Community rules
1. Our community
Pump App is a fitness community for real people who want to train together, motivate each other, and grow. We call ourselves Pumpers - and we keep our community clean, authentic, and respectful.
These rules apply to everyone using Pump App: to posts, images, videos, chats, comments, profile information, and every other interaction in the app. They form part of the Terms of Service; by using the app, you accept them.
Minimum age: Pump App is available from 14 years of age. Between 14 and 18 you need the consent of a legal guardian. Additional protections for minors apply under section 5.
In force since: 10 September 2026
2. General conduct
2.1 Respect
- Treat other Pumpers the way you want to be treated.
- Criticism of training methods, content, or opinions is allowed. Personal attacks, insults, and humiliation are not - not even as a joke.
- No bullying, no stalking, no harassment. Harassment means repeated or targeted contact, disparagement, or pursuit against a person's evident wishes.
2.2 No hate
- Content that demeans or discriminates against people based on body, weight, gender, origin, skin colour, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability is prohibited.
- Body shaming is not tolerated in any direction - against fat, against thin, against muscular, against untrained.
2.3 No spam
- No mass messages, chain posts, or repetitive content.
- Advertising external products or services without explicit permission from Pump App is prohibited. Organisation accounts are covered by section 8, Pump Stars additionally by section 9.3.
2.4 Be yourself
- Do not present yourself as another person, brand, or organisation.
- Parody, fan, and quote accounts are allowed if clearly identifiable as such in the profile name and if there is no risk of confusion.
- An account deliberately imitating a real person is suspended without warning (section 10.4).
3. Posts, images and videos
3.1 Allowed content
- Workout videos and photos
- Training progress and results
- Splits, routines, tips
- Motivating and inspiring content related to fitness and health
3.2 Prohibited content
- Sexually explicit or suggestive material
- Depictions of violence
- Content that shows, instructs, or glorifies dangerous or illegal practices (see section 4)
- Content in which other people are identifiable without their consent
On people in your shots: anyone filming in a gym inevitably captures others. People incidentally visible in the background are fine, as long as they are not clearly the focus, not exposed, and not commented on. If a person is clearly the subject of your post, you need their consent. At the request of the person concerned, we will remove the post.
3.3 Authenticity of your progress
- Show training progress, physique, and results without distortion.
- Filters, lighting, and cropping are normal and allowed.
- What is not allowed is deliberate manipulation of body shape, weights, or performance figures to fake progress that did not happen.
3.4 AI-generated images - prohibited
- Posting AI-generated or AI-altered images and videos is prohibited. This applies to all generators (e.g. Midjourney, DALL·E, Stable Diffusion) and also when you label them as AI. Pump App stands for real people and real progress.
- Ordinary camera functions and image editing within section 3.3 are not affected.
How we handle a suspicion - this is binding: A report alone is not proof. Where there is a suspicion, we review the post; automated detection tools give us a signal at most, never the decision. Before we remove a post permanently, we give you the opportunity to respond - unless the post also violates section 10.4. If the suspicion is not confirmed, the post stays online and no violation is recorded.
4. Health and safety
We are a fitness community. What gets recommended here, people go and do. That is why health-related content has its own rules.
4.1 Doping and performance-enhancing substances
- Prohibited: sources, prices, dosing and cycle advice regarding anabolic steroids, SARMs, peptides, growth hormones, and comparable substances - as well as any offer, request, or brokering.
- Talking about your own experience is allowed, as long as it does not become instruction and no source is named.
- Trading and brokering lead to suspension without warning (section 10.4) - in Austria this is a criminal offence under the Anti-Doping Act.
4.2 Eating behaviour
- Prohibited: content that glorifies eating disorders, instructs others in them, or presents them as a lifestyle - including extreme calorie restriction held up as an example, weight-loss competitions, and rating other people's bodies by weight.
- Sharing your own path, including recovery from an eating disorder, is explicitly allowed and welcome.
- Where we detect content or search terms in this area, we display links to support services.
4.3 Medical advice and health claims
- No diagnoses, no treatment recommendations, no instructions for training with injuries or illness.
- You may recommend supplements, but without health claims or effects that do not exist.
- Pump App is not a substitute for medical advice. When in doubt, ask a doctor, physiotherapist, or qualified coach.
5. Protection of minors
- Accounts of users under 18 are private by default; direct messages from unknown adults are disabled by default.
- Body images of minors do not belong in public feeds - not even as training progress.
- Any sexualised approach, contact, or depiction involving minors leads to suspension without warning and is reported to the authorities (section 10.4).
- Ratings, rankings, or comments on the bodies of minors are prohibited.
6. Chat
6.1 Direct messages
- Direct messages are for respectful, wanted communication.
- Unsolicited advertising, spam, and harassment via DM are prohibited.
- Sexually harassing or threatening messages, or messages continued against a person's stated wishes, lead to suspension without warning (section 10.4).
6.2 Shared content in chat
- Workout cards and other content shared in chat are subject to the same rules as public posts.
- Do not share third-party content without their consent.
- Do not publish screenshots of private chats without the consent of everyone involved.
7. Bots, automation and AI
7.1 No bots
- Automated accounts are prohibited.
- Automated liking, commenting, following, or posting is prohibited - regardless of purpose.
- How we act depends on the scale: isolated automation → medium violation; automated reach building → serious violation; coordinated use of multiple accounts or purchased engagement → suspension without warning (section 10.4).
7.2 No AI identities
- An account may not be operated by an AI or represent an AI persona.
- There is a human behind every personal account. Organisation accounts are covered by section 8.
7.3 No AI text passed off as your own experience
- Text fully generated by AI and presented as your own statement or your own experience is prohibited.
- AI as a tool - spelling, translation, phrasing - is allowed.
8. Accounts of gyms, clubs and brands
- Organisations may run an account if it is clearly identifiable as such in the profile and has a responsible contact person on file.
- All rules in this document apply to them. Promotional posts must additionally be labelled under section 9.3.
- Section 7.2 applies here too: an organisation account may not pretend to be a private individual.
9. Pump Stars (verified accounts)
Pump Stars are verified members with elevated visibility. With reach comes responsibility.
9.1 Same rules, harsher consequences
The same rules apply to Pump Stars as to everyone else. What differs is only the consequence: violations weigh more because they reach more people (see the table in section 10.5).
9.2 Authenticity
- Sections 3.3 and 3.4 apply to Pump Stars unchanged - with the stricter consequences in section 10.5.
- No automated engagement, not even to grow your own reach.
9.3 Advertising transparency
- Sponsored content, collaborations, affiliate links, and product recommendations in exchange for consideration must be clearly and visibly labelled as advertising before the content.
- This is not just house rules: undisclosed advertising violates § 2 of the Austrian Unfair Competition Act (UWG).
- Undisclosed advertising is a serious violation (section 10.2).
9.4 No abuse of status
- Status may not be used to pressure, manipulate, or unfairly favour others.
- Advertising deals outside Pump App that make use of Pump Star status must be disclosed.
10. Violations and consequences
10.1 We distinguish by severity
| Level | Examples | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Spam, unlabelled third-party advertising, repetitive content | 1 point |
| Medium | Insults, AI-generated image, manipulated progress, isolated automation, medical advice under 4.3 | 2 points |
| Serious | Hate under 2.2, harassment, undisclosed advertising, doping instructions, automated reach building, violations of section 5 | 4 points |
10.2 What points lead to
- From 4 points: warning, with notice of the next stage.
- From 8 points: 30-day suspension.
- From 12 points: permanent suspension.
- The offending content is removed in every case.
10.3 Points expire
Points expire 12 months after the violation. Stay within the rules for a year and you are back at zero. Permanent suspensions under 10.4 are excluded from this.
10.4 Suspension without warning
The following lead to immediate permanent suspension - no points system applies:
- Sexual abuse or depiction of minors (CSAM) - reported to the authorities
- Any sexualised approach or contact involving minors
- Sexual harassment and messages continued against a person's stated wishes
- Direct threats to life or physical safety
- Doxxing - publishing private information about others without consent
- Fraud, identity theft, impersonation of a real person
- Trading or brokering doping substances (section 4.1)
- Coordinated bot activity or large-scale platform manipulation
10.5 Pump Stars
| Violation | Regular user | Pump Star |
|---|---|---|
| Minor violation | 1 point | 2 points |
| Medium violation | 2 points | 4 points + warning |
| Serious violation | 4 points | 4 points + loss of Pump Star status for 90 days |
| AI image (3.4) | 2 points | 4 points + loss of status for 90 days |
| Automated engagement | per 7.1 | permanent loss of status |
| Second serious violation | per point total | permanent loss of status |
10.6 What happens to your content
- On suspension, your own posts are removed. Comments needed to make sense of other people's posts, and other people's chat histories, remain untouched.
- You have 30 days before final deletion to secure your data via the export function.
11. How we moderate
- Reports first. Most of our decisions are based on reports from the community, not on automated searching.
- Automated systems are used only as a signal - for example on suspected AI images or CSAM. They do not make the final decision on a suspension.
- Humans decide. Every removal and every suspension is reviewed by a person.
- We document every decision with a reference to the rule, so you can understand and challenge it.
12. Reporting violations
- You can report posts, images, chats, and profiles directly in the app.
- You receive an acknowledgement of receipt and, once decided, notice of the outcome.
- Illegal content can additionally be reported at any time to kontakt@g-dev.at.
- On false reports: a report that is not confirmed has no consequences for you. Only someone who repeatedly submits manifestly unfounded reports receives a warning; only after that can we temporarily restrict the reporting function. When in doubt, report - better once too often.
13. Your rights when we remove or suspend something
- You receive a statement of reasons. It names the content concerned, the rule violated, what the decision is based on, whether an automated system was involved, and how to appeal.
- You can appeal - within 6 months, informally, to kontakt@g-dev.at. We respond within 14 days.
- A successful appeal is implemented: content is restored, points are cancelled, suspensions are lifted, Pump Star status is returned.
- Independently of this, you may take legal action.
14. Changes to these rules
- We announce material changes 30 days in advance in the app.
- If you object within that period, you may end your subscription free of charge as of the date the change takes effect.
- Editorial corrections and clarifications in your favour take effect immediately.
15. Legal
- These rules supplement the Pump App Terms of Service.
- The German version is authoritative. This English version is a translation; in the event of discrepancies, the German text prevails.
- Austrian and EU law apply. Mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
- Contact point under the Digital Services Act (Art. 11, 12 DSA): kontakt@g-dev.at
